These rules are described in the Implementation Toolkit and can only be validated by submitting your CDA documents directly to NHSN through a test facility.
The Lantana Group’s Schematron Validator When validating a CDA file within the Lantana Group’s Schematron Validator, select the specific HAI Implementation Guide the CDA file is based on.
If incorrect data have been reported to NHSN, either manually add, edit and delete records in NHSN to make corrections or import a corrected CDA file using the succession management process (refer to the Implementation Guide and contact the NHSN CDA Helpdesk at [email protected] more information).
Corrections should be made as soon as possible after discovery.
Enter the functions and parameter that the system will use to select data for the report.
The truth is that none of us filling out forms — there is a lot of evidence to show that users get annoyed by forms, and it will cause them to leave and go somewhere else if they are done poorly. We want to make filling out web forms as painless as possible, so why do we insist on blocking our users at every turn?
This is called form validation — when you enter data, the web application checks it to see if it is correct.
If correct, the application allows the data to be submitted to the server and (usually) saved in a database; if not, it gives you error messages to explain what you've done wrong (provided you've done it right).
Unreliable data are not useful to quality improvement efforts.
CDC expects that the sender has done adequate data validation to ensure data being reported using CDA are complete and correct by comparing data collected manually to data obtained from CDA (both numerator and denominator).
